1888 - Born in Maryville, Missouri on the 24th of November.

1908 - He was elected class president his sophomore year, then left the university after receiving a regent's certificate to teach in Missouri.

1912 - He was unsuccessful as a salesman, and moved to New York City where he gave classes in public speaking at the Young Men's Christian Association.

1930 - He became known for a radio programme and his books, notably How to Win Friends and Influence People which enjoyed immediate success and would remain one of the best-sellers of all time

- He was married to Dorothy Price Vanderpool Carnegie, and had one daughter, Donna Dale Carnegie

1931 - His first marriage ended in divorce. On the 5th of November, in Tulsa, Oklahoma,

1938 - Dale Carnegie returned to Warrensburg for "Dale Carnegie Day" on the 28th of June.

1955 - He died of Hodgkin's disease on the 1st of November and is buried in Belton.
